Located three kilometers from the village of Caminha, the Parish of Venade occupies an area of about 585 ha. It confronts, to the north, with the river Coura (left bank), being Vilar de Mouros (place of Marinhas) and the Parish of Seixas (place of Coura), on the other bank. Of its heritage, the highlight goes to the beautiful Cruzeiro de Venade carved, in stonework, Baroque style, with N. Sra. da Conceição on the Solomonic shaft. Built between 1760 and 1790 at the expense of the people, it is classified as ’Public Interest’. Note, also, for the Cruises of the School, the Lord of Socorro and the Street. Also, for the chapels and for the vast array of alminhas and two sundials. It has Venade four chapels. St. Anthony’s Chapel; Lady of the Way; Lady of Loreto and Lord of Socorro. Only that of Santo Antão is public, probably built in the thirteenth or fourteenth centuries.
Venade is also much sought after, both for the architectural heritage surrounding the churchyard where the bandstand, the Parish Church and the Parish Council are, as well as for the beautiful panoramas observed from the Fojo Viewpoint, and other high points of this land.
Watercourses such as the Coura River and the Rio Tinto are aggregators of tourist and leisure values.

VENADE
Located three kilometres from the village of Caminha, the Parish of Venade occupies an area of about 585 ha. It confronts, to the north, with the river Coura (left bank), with Vilar de Mouros (place of Marinhas) and the Parish of Seixas (place of Coura), on the other bank. To the south, it borders the parishes of Azevedo and Gondar. To the east, it establishes limits with the parishes of Argela and Dem, to the west, it limits with the parishes of Vilarelho, Cristelo and Moledo.
It is surrounded by the hills of Chã Vermelha, Senhora da Serra or Neves and Santo Antão, it extends from a beautiful and productive valley to the plateau of the aforementioned mountains. In this way, it presents a rural landscape with a considerable forest component and also an area of reeds in its riverside area, as far as the Coura River is concerned.
From its heritage, the highlight is the beautiful Cross of Venade, sculpted in stonework, baroque style, with Our Lady of the Conception on the Solomonic shaft. Built between 1760 and 1790 at the expense of the people, it is classified as of ’Public Interest’. Note, also, for the Cruzeiros da Escola, Senhor do Socorro and da Rua. Also, for the chapels and for the vast set of shrines and two sundials. Venade has four chapels. Chapel of Santo Antão; Lady of the Way; Senhora do Loreto and Senhor do Socorro. Only the one in Santo Antão is public, probably built in the thirteenth or fourteenth centuries.
Venade is also very sought after, both for the architectural heritage surrounding the churchyard where the bandstand, the Parish Church and the Parish Council are located, and for the beautiful panoramas observed from the Fojo Viewpoint, and from other high points of this land.
Watercourses such as the Coura River and the Tinto River are aggregators of tourist and leisure values.
