Until the creation of the parish, ’Campo de Ourique’ referred only to the homonymous neighborhood of the city of Lisbon. It is located in the heart of the city, between the Mulberry Trees, the Star and the Pleasures. It is a residential neighborhood, but with a vocation for very strong and old trade.

Campo de Ourique is a neighborhood with a life of its own, it looks like a small town within Greater Lisbon. The working days and the weekend do not seem to be distinguished, because the quiet and paradoxically dynamic movement of the people crosses the neighborhood every day of the week at the same pace.

Culture and Leisure:
From the built heritage of Campo de Ourique, stands out the Church of the Holy Constable, emblematic monument of the area authored by Vasco Regaleira, the architect of the ’new churches’ and the Church of Santa Isabel. Until 2010 there was the building of the former Cinema Europa built in the 30’s and redesigned by architect Carlos Antero Ferreira in 1958, with sculpture by Euclides Vaz.

You can’t miss Casa Fernando Pessoa and Casa Amália Rodrigues, the churches of Santa Isabel and Santo Condstable, but walking around the neighborhood is also a program not to be missed. Discover the beautiful facades of the buildings, get to know the Artists’ Courtyard - one of Lisbon’s best kept secrets - and sit back on one of the benches of Jardim da Parada.
